MOVIE NIGHT WITH GMO FREE NJ!

Collingswood Public Library
Thursday August 15, 7:00-8:30pm

Come in out of the heat and gather with others to enjoy a screening of the beautifully filmed documentary Deconstructing Supper, directed by Marianne Kaplan. In under an hour this little gem of a film takes us from a five star gourmet restaurant in Canada, to genetic engineering labs, down supermarket aisles, to farms across North America and India and back again. This thought provoking look at food production in the age of GMOs and industrial agriculture is informative and startling. Because there are mouthwatering scenes of lovingly prepared and delicious looking food, there will be complementary organic popcorn. After the movie GMO free NJ members will be on hand to answer questions and lead discussion. Film is 48 minutes long and is appropriate for children. Bring a friend!

GMO Free NJ July Meeting

Now that we have advanced our GMO labeling bill through the Assembly Budget Committee, we are ready for the next step–AWARENESS! Yes, we want to spread awareness. What’s the best way to do that? Let’s write letters to the editor! So, come to the next meeting at the Collingswood library, bring your pen and stationery if you have some, your thoughts about why you want GMOs labeled and we will write letters together. Our more seasoned letter writers will be on hand to provide tips and guidance. If you’d rather write to the legislators, we will have the addresses of all the Senators who need to be contacted as well as talking points. Non-GMO snacks will be available to provide inspiration.

When: Thursday, July 18 @ 7:00pm
Where: Collingswood Public Library, 771 Haddon Ave in Collingswood
Why: Because we can’t be stopped!
